The simplest language lab is the basic audio interactive lab ACEN Chat Club.
The teacher's workstation is computerized with Acenet 5.1 firmware providing the classroom management system to effectively conduct the language practical class. The teaching material can be created in the lab or taken readymade from market. The main facilities are: *intercom, *on line programs to students, *attending 'calls' for help from students, *facility to probe and record student's performance, *multiple grouping facility for group discussion, *multiple pairing. At the student end is a 'student terminal' - the electronic hardware for listening and speaking through headsets. A user supplied tape recorder or a computer with multimedia recorder can be used for recording lessons from teacher /student's response. Video can be shown to students on user supplied projector for common viewing.
